Jen Lau

Jen Lau joined Transplant Families in 2019. Her oldest son is a liver transplant recipient from a living donor and received his gift at just 9 months old. Jen is the Co-Owner and President of BARE (Biliary Atresia Research and Education) and has extensive volunteer experience in pediatric transplant.  She is the current parent lead for the United Network of Organ Sharing (UNOS)/ Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN) Pediatric Committee championing causes such as the recent liver geographic redistribution policies giving children priority on the transplant list.  She served as Chair and is a current member of the Patient and Families Group of SPLIT (Society for Pediatric Liver Transplantation), and is on the Siragusa Transplant Center Board at Ann & Robert H Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. She has also collaborated with groups such as the Starzl Network for Excellence in Pediatric Transplantation and the Advanced Cardiac Therapies Improving Outcomes Network (ACTION), to work on quality improvement projects that help amplify the parent voice to help shape the future of medical care. Jen’s professional background is in Human Resources.
