Because, as caregivers, we understand what it is like to have an empty cup. And we are always pouring from our cups into others. We have lots to deal with, like stress from dealing with insurance, worrying about medication refills, and scheduling another medical visit. And then worrying about what those medical visits will tell us. Our cups get emptied all of the time. And our children can feel that. Their cups get emptied by other things such as feeling different than other children, fatigue due to their transplant and worrying about waiting for their transplant. They may also feel guilt about the transplant if they're old enough.
Today's mental wellness resource is "The Emotional Cup," provided by upbility. Try it today to fill your cup AND your child's! So stop and take 15 minutes of wellness to try the exercise below. Think about the things you love to do with your child. How can you help them fill their cup today or fill your own?
