Jefferson residents James and Kerri Testement currently are working with Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) to raise $60,000 for a heart transplant for their 6-year-old daughter, Katie. Katie was diagnosed with Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrome.

The Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) is a national charity dedicated to organizing and guiding communities in raising funds for transplant-related expenses and Katie’s family has asked for assistance in their effort to raise the funds needed for the heart transplant.

Volunteers in the community also can assist with fundraising activities that will help with transplant-related expenses.

For more information, contact Community Coordinator Mandi Spivey at (706) 870-7272 or email mandi_jody_spivey@yahoo.com.

Donations also can be mailed to: Children’s Organ Transplant Association, 2501 West COTA Drive, Bloomington, Indiana, 47403. Checks or money orders should be made payable to COTA, with “In Honor of Katie T” written on the memo line of the check.

Secure credit card donations also are accepted online at www.COTAforKatieT.com.
