Sawyer Mobley, 10, underwent surgery late Wednesday at the St. Louis Children’s Hospital and came out early Thursday, according to information posted by his mother, Angel Mobley, on the Facebook page “Strength for Sawyer.”

“Sawyer is currently stable,” she posted about 3 p.m. Thursday. Doctors are pleased with his progress, according to family members.

Sawyer has battled cystic fibrosis since he was a newborn. His condition deteriorated quickly after catching a common virus in the summer.

Sawyer and his mother left for St. Louis in late August, when he was put on the transplant list.

“Thanks to everyone for prayers and kind words!” Sawyer’s mother posted. “Miracles happening as we speak.”
