Tayt Andersen, Ellen’s 10-year-old “boyfriend” who was born with half of his heart, returned to The Ellen DeGeneres show Monday with a brand-new heart after years of trying to get a transplant.
The world has followed Tayt and his mother Chrissy’s journey since they began consistently appearing on Ellen DeGeneres’ show in the beginning of 2013. During each of his visits, DeGeneres has gifted Tayt with gifts and her assistance, recently letting him know that he was the first person on the heart transplant waiting list.

On June 23, Tayt got his heart transplant. He has since recovered from the surgery, and is back to tell DeGeneres about the experience. The story is touching, as are the video messages that Chrissy took of her son throughout.
