St. Joseph Nephrology Services will host a free conference for dialysis patients and family members interested in learning about kidney transplantation. The event will be held Monday, Feb. 3 at St. Joseph Medical Center located at 1717 South J Street in Tacoma.
Experts from the region’s three leading transplant centers – Swedish Medical Center, University of Washington Medical Center and Virginia Mason Medical Center – will join Franciscan Health System physicians to share information on the evaluation and transplantation process. Patients who have had a kidney transplant will also be on hand to share their experiences.
“Embarking on the path to organ transplant takes a tremendous amount of time and effort not only on behalf of the patient, but the patient’s family and support system,” says Marla Fredericks, regional director of nephrology services for Franciscan. “This conference brings all of the region’s resources for kidney transplant to one place for patients and family members.”
This free event is open to everyone, but registration is requested. To register call 1-888-825-3227 or visit us online at the St. Joseph transplant website. Free valet parking is available to conference attendees at both the J Street and I Street entrances to St. Joseph Medical Center.
